ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The University of New Mexico men’s basketball team continues to succeed in the classroom as the Lobos finished the 2016 Fall semester with a 3.0 grade point average, the third-best GPA in program history, as released by the athletic department Friday.
The high grade mark continues the trend under four-year head coach Craig Neal. The Lobos have posted a GPA of 2.7 or higher all seven semesters in which he has been head coach. It continues the longest streak of its kind in program history. The team has reached a 2.7 or higher in the last 17 of 18 semesters.
The Lobos will look to continue their success in the classroom and on the court this spring, facing Nevada in Reno Saturday at 1 p.m. PT/2 p.m. MT.
