LAS VEGAS, NEV. — Preseason polls, all-conference teams, and interviews, interviews, and more interviews.  It’s that time of year again as The University of New Mexico will once again take part in the Mountain West Football Media Day activities, hosted in the beautiful Cosmopolitian Hotel on the Las Vegas Strip.  This year the Lobos will be represented by student-athletes Dakota Cox on defense, and Cole Gautsche on offense, along with head coach Bob Davie.

Once again, fans will be able to follow along in a variety of ways, through official UNM social media, as well as official Mountain West social media platforms.

For UNM, the best way to follow along is via the official football account on twitter, @NewMexicoFB, where photos and videos of the proceedings will be highlighted.  Media Day starts at 8 a.m. for UNM’s contingent (Pacific time) and will continue through 5:45 p.m. (Pacific time).

In addition, for the fourth consecutive year, the Mountain West Network on Campus Insiders will provide live coverage from MW Football Media Days.  Members of the Mountain Division will go on Tuesday, July 26 while West Division members are on Wednesday, July 27. This year, thanks to the league’s partnership with Facebook, the Mountain West Network will also offer viewers unprecedented access throughout the media day festivities.

The Mountain West’s partnership with Facebook comes on the heels of an announcement just last week of a digital media rights partnership between Twitter and Campus Insiders. The partnership is highlighted by the Mountain West, which will join the NFL as the first and only leagues to live stream football on the social media platform. Details on the partnership between Twitter and Campus Insiders can be found at TheMW.com.

MW media days coverage gets underway at 8 a.m. PT on Tuesday, July 26, as the Mountain West will announce its 2016 predicted order of finish and preseason All-Conference football honorees using Facebook Live on the MW’s official Facebook page. The league will also unveil its 2015-16 Athletes and Scholar-Athletes of the Year, which are the MW’s highest honors bestowed to its student-athletes, via Facebook Live at 8 a.m. PT on Wednesday, July 27. Both announcements will be a first of their kind utilizing the Facebook Live tool.

For the first time in league history, fans will be able to participate in the Mountain West Network’s live Media Day shows. Jesse Kurtz will host the shows and will be joined on set by student-athletes representing each MW institution. Stormy Buonantony will serve as reporter and will field questions from viewers tuning in to the Facebook Live broadcast. Student-athletes representing the Mountain Division will be live on the show from 4-5:30 p.m. PT on Tuesday, July 26, while the West Division will be represented from 4-5:30 p.m. PT on Wednesday, July 27.
