WGCA All-Scholar Team GPA List
CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Academic accolades continue to roll in for the University of New Mexico women’s golf team. As announced Wednesday morning, the Lobos finished fourth on the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-Scholar Team GPA List.
The Lobos finished the year with a collective team effort of a 3.809 GPA which was fourth behind Keiser University, Illinois State University and top GPA team Lindenwood University.
The WGCA recognizes the women’s golf program with the highest collective team GPA which includes all of the team’s student-athletes for the 2015-16 season. The award is presented regardless of division.
The Lobos also earned four WGCA All-American Scholars in Darian Zachek, Eva Saulnier, Alexandra Moisand and Ingrid Gutierrez.
The Women’s Golf Coaches Association
The Women’s Golf Coaches Association, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women’s collegiate golf coaches. The WGCA was formed to encourage the playing of college golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition. Today, the WGCA represents nearly 600 coaches throughout the U.S. and is dedicated to educating, promoting and recognizing both its members and the student-athletes they represent.
