ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – University of New Mexico men’s basketball head coach Craig Neal has announced the hiring of new Athletic Performance Coach Glenn Cain.
“We are excited to have Glenn join our program,” said Neal. “He comes here after five years with the University of Kansas and brings a great deal of experience to Lobo Basketball.”
Cain comes to New Mexico after five years with the Jayhawks. There he worked with the men’s basketball program, as well as directly working with four other teams. During his time, eight players were selected in the NBA draft, four of which were lottery picks. As the Assistant Sport Performance Coach, Cain was integral to Kansas’ operation, from overseeing the graduate assistant program to helping fundraise over $100,000 for the Sport Performance department.
“I’m extremely excited to be here,” expressed Cain. “I’m looking forward to this opportunity to work with the guys and to help maximize their potential both as a team and individually.”
Prior to working at Kansas, Cain served for two years as the Strength and Conditioning/Fitness Center Coordinator at Frostburg State University. As the program’s first strength and conditioning coach, he oversaw over 300 student-athletes and 21 teams.
Cain received his Master of Education: Exercise Science and Sport Studies with a concentration in Strength and Conditioning from Springfield College. He previously received his undergraduate degree in Health Studies from Gettysburg College.
