ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. Emilie Cedervärn, a senior on the UNM ski team, has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District VII team for CoSIDA’s at-large field.  That field includes the women’s sports of Beach Volleyball, Bowling, Crew/Rowing,  Fencing, Field Hockey, Golf, Gymnastics, Ice Hockey, Lacrosse, Rifle, Skiing, Swimming & Diving, Tennis and Water Polo.  DIstrict VII encompasses all Division I schools in Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas and Wyoming.

Due to the sheer number of sports and student-athletes, the at-large team is one of the toughest to make.

Cedervärn was a two-time All-America this season, finishing fifth in the Nordic freestyle to earn First Team All-America honors, and then eighth in Nordic classical to earn Second Team All-America honors.  Over the course of the season, despite missing five races, she won three titles, to give her eight, tying the UNM Nordic record.

Cedervärn is the 11th Lobo student-athlete to earn CoSIDA Academic All-District honors, joining Alex Estrella (baseball), Chris DeVito (baseball), Cullen Neal (men’s basketball), Tim Williams (men’s basketball), Hannah Johnson (volleyball), Cassie Ulrich (women’s soccer), Alyssa Coonrod (women’s soccer), Jason Beaulieu (men’s soccer), Chris Gurule (men’s soccer) and Josh Dye (men’s soccer).  The honorees for track and field will be announced later this month.
