ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The University of New Mexico softball team will face Boise State on the road this weekend for a three-game series starting Friday. All three games will stream live on the Mountain West Network. Live stats will also be available.

ABOUT THE MATCHUP
This series will be the 10th, 11th and 12th meetings between the Lobos and the Broncos. The Broncos lead the all-time series 5-4. Last season, the Lobos earned their first sweep of the Broncos, claiming a 7-6 win on game one, 7-5 win in game two and a dominating 11-3 five-inning win in game three.

ABOUT BOISE STATE
Boise State comes into the series with a 12-31 overall record. The Broncos currently sit last in the conference with a 4-11 record after three losses at Utah State last weekend. They fell 7-6 in game one, 16-2 in five innings in game two and 8-7 in game three. The Broncos have won two of their last six games, claiming wins over UNLV in the previous weekend. Last season, the Broncos finished at the bottom of the conference with a 4-20 record.

The Broncos are hitting .286 as a team. Senior Teauna Hughes is leading the squad with a .373 batting average. She has 44 hits and 25 runs scored this season with a .678 sluggin percentage. She owns 36 RBI and has a .977 fielding percentage.

In the circle, the Broncos top pitcher is senior Nicole Wilson. She holds a 5.39 earned run average and has a 6-8 record. In 91.1 innings pitched, she has 23 strikeouts and holds her opponents to a .332 opposing batting average.

ABOUT THE LOBOS
New Mexico comes into the series with a 20-20 overall record. With its 5-9 MW record, they have dropped to seventh in the Mountain West after falling three times to UNLV last weekend. The Lobos dropped two heartbreakers to start the series, falling in the seventh innings 13-12 in game one and 7-6 in game two. The Rebels defeated the Lobos in game three 7-3.

At the plate, the Lobos will look to sophomore Chelsea Johnson and senior Mariah Rimmer to get the offense going. Johnson now leads the team with a .435 batting average with Rimmer second on the team, hitting .422. Johnson has really come into her own over the last five games, hitting .750 with four home runs and 16 RBI. Rimmer has been consistent at the plate all season, leading the team with 57 hits and 36 runs scored.

In the circle, the Lobos will look to the entire pitching staff. As a squad they have a 4.62 ERA with senior Lisa Rodrigues with the lowest ERA of 3.65. Freshman Colette Robert leads the team in wins with eight and has seen the majority of the innings in the circle at 102.2. Senior Lauren Soles and sophomore Krissy Fortner will see action this weekend. The two combine for a 7-11 record. Soles holds her opponents to a team-leading lowest opponent batting average at .314. Junior Tess McPherson will most likely see action. She has a ERA of 5.86 and a 3-1 record.

QUICK HITS
TOUGH WEEKEND FOR LOBOS
It was a tough weekend for the Lobo softball team as they fell in all three games to UNLV, including two heartbreaking games in game one and two. They hit .354 for the weekend but bould not come up with a win. In game one and two, the Lobos had the lead going into the seventh innings but fell by one run. They fell in a slugfest in game one 13-12 and in game two 7-6. In game three, the Lobos couldn’t quite get enough offense going, falling 7-3 to the Rebels.
 
JOHNSON NOW LEADS THE LOBOS AT THE PLATE
Before last series, sophomore Chelsea Johnson was second on the team in batting average but after hitting .667 against UNLV she is now leading the Lobos at the plate with a .435 average. Against UNLV, she was 8-for-12 with a double, two home runs and six RBI. She had a 1.250 slugging percentage and a .615 on-base percentage. Over the last five games, she has hit .750 with six runs scored, four home runs, including a grand slam, and 16 RBI. On the season, she has a total of seven home runs, four doubles and 26 RBI with a .797 slugging percentage and a .461 on-base percentage.
 
RIMMER HAS BIG WEEKEND
Although the Lobos didn’t have a great weekend, senior Mariah Rimmer put together a big weekend, hitting .600. She went 6-for-10 with four runs scored and two home runs. She had a 1.200 slugging percentage and a .692 on-base percentage. She also walked three times. Over the weekend, she broke the career total base record, passing Danielle Cassara (1997-2000). Cassara had 347 career total bases. Rimmer now has 349 career total bases. On the season, Rimmer is hitting .422 which is second on the team. She has a total of seven home runs, 13 doubles and two triples. She owns a .704 slugging percentage and a .473 on-base percentage.
 
RIMMER BECOMING A TOP PLAYER IN UNM HISTORY
Senior Mariah Rimmer has made her mark here at the University of New Mexico. She will go down as one of the top players in UNM history. Rimmer is in the top 10 of many career categories for the Lobos, including batting average (1st, .361), slugging percentage (4th, .539), on-base percentage (5th, .411), at-bats (4th, 648), runs scored (3rd, 133), hits (2nd, 234), doubles (5th, 39), triples (T7th, 8), home runs (7th, 20), RBI (3rd, 124), total bases (1st, 349) and stolen bases (8th, 58). In a single-season, Rimmer is third on the list in batting average (.422) and fifth in slugging percentage (.704).
