ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — It’s officially bowl week as New Mexico will take on UTSA in the 11th Annual Gildan New Mexico Bowl on Saturday, December 17 at noon at University Stadium.

Ticket sales for UNM are going well, but there’s still plenty of tickets left in the Lobo sections, and this most certainly is the last chance to see UNM’s record-breaking team in action this season.  The Lobos, sitting at 8-4, can tie the school record for wins over a two-year period with 16. New Mexico also leads the nation in rushing yards, rushing yards per game, rushing yards per carry, and runs of 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 and 70 yards.  UNM also has set school records for points, scoring average, rushing yards and will break the school record for total offense (needing just 21 yards).

Fans can purchase tickets by visiting the Lobo Ticket Office at WisePies Arena Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Visiting in-person is the absolute best way to guarantee the best and most cost effective seats.  Tickets for the game are $40, and $30 for Lobo Football Season Ticket Holders.  Group tickets of 25 or more are just $25 per ticket, and student tickets are $15.

Lobo fan seating is on the East side of the stadium (that would be the sunny side for the game, which is opposite the normal side).  UNM’s sections are CC through GG.

Along with the game, there are plenty of activities for the student-athletes and fans to enjoy.  On Wednesday, the two teams will have a welcome dinner at The Main Event in Albuquerque.  On Thursday, coaches and players from both teams will head to UNM Children’s Hospital to visit the children’s ward before heading to the Albuquerque Convention Center as both team’s face off against each other for team dinner and game night.

Friday at 10:15 is the Gildan New Mexico Bowl press conference at Isleta Resort and Casino, where Cole Gautsche and Dakota Cox will speak along with Bob Davie.  Immediately afterwards is the Isleta Casino & Resort Kickoff Luncheon, featuring guest speaker Jim Kelly, Pro Football Hall of Famer.  Tickets can be purchased for that event by calling 505-925-5999.

Then on Friday at 4 p.m., UNM needs Albuquerque out in Old Town Plaza in full force for the Gildan New Mexico Bowl pep rally and battle of the bands.  With UNM playing in its hometown, Lobo fans need to come out and support UNM’s marching band and captains at the pep rally.

Saturday is game day, but prior to, fans can head to the Gildan New Mexico Bowl FanFest in the North End Zone Parking Lots from 9 until just before kickoff, then come in the stadium and cheer the Lobos on as they attempt to win a bowl game for the first time since 2007 and just the second time in 55 years.
