ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — After a dominating 101-48 opening outing on Tuesday night, the University of New Mexico women’s basketball team is set to host Eastern New Mexico on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. at WisePies Arena – The Pit.
Sunday afternoon’s game will be the final tune up for the Lobos before they enter regular-season play against Fairleigh Dickinson on Saturday, Nov. 12.

The Lobos enter their final exhibition match up 1-0 in preseason competition following their 101-48 performance over Fort Lewis. Junior Cherise Beynon paced the Lobos with 20 points while also bringing down a team-high 12 rebounds. She added five assists and two steals in her 20 minutes on the court.
In addition, five Lobos scored in double figures including Beynon, redshirt-junior Alex Lapeyrolerie (15), freshman Mykiel Burleson (14), senior Richelle van der Keijl (11) and sophomore Emily Lines (10). Lines led the Lobos in three-pointers as she finished 3-of-7 from behind the arc.
The Coaches:
The Lobos are led by head coach Mike Bradbury in his first season with the Lobos, his 10th season overall. Bradbury enters this season with a career record of 178-117. Assisting Bradbury will be Valerie King in her first season at UNM, Aarika Hughes in her first season and Erin Grant, who is returning to the Lobos for her second season.
Eastern New Mexico is coached by Josh Prock in his fourth season. Prock posts a 25-55 record in his first three seasons at ENMU. He led the Greyhounds to a 10-17 record in 2015-16.
Series History:
The Lobos are 6-2 all-time over Eastern New Mexico. The last time the teams faced off was on Nov. 22, 2011 when UNM claimed a 54-33 win at home.The Lobos have scored over 100 points in just eight regular-season games in program history, one of which was on February 19, 1979 in a 103-52 victory over Eastern New Mexico.
