New Mexico Game Notes | Wyoming Game Notes

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — It’s official.  Lobo fans have wanted a shot at a title, and tonight the Lobos can do just that.  New Mexico hosts Wyoming at 8:15 p.m. at University Stadium with a share of its first Division title since 1997 at stake.  The Lobos have that shot after Air Force defeated Boise State 27-20 on Friday afternoon in Colorado Springs.

The last time the Lobos had a Division title was back in the days of the Western Athletic Conference under Dennis Franchione when the Lobos went 9-4, going 6-2 in the Mountain Division and advancing to the WAC Championship Game in Las Vegas.  That was back in 1997.  That was also the last time the Indians went to the World Series and there were two ties in the NFL, so New Mexico has a chance to add to that.

The Lobos are currently 7-4, 5-2 in the Mountain West and Wyoming is 8-3 and 6-1 in the Mountain West.  While UNM could tie with Boise State and Wyoming for the Division title, Wyoming owns that tiebreaker so it is assured of its appearance in the Mountain West Championship Game against San Diego State.  Tonight’s game will be broadcast on ESPN2 at 8:15 p.m. for a third straight week, and UNM is breaking out all the stops to get a great crowd at the game with several big promotions.

All University Stadium seating in Cherry, Turquoise, Silver & Premium Seating sections are available for purchase for just $10 and tickets in US Bank Zia Level will be available for $30.  Tickets to the fan-friendly Chama River Brewing Company Craft Corner, located at the base of the South end zone, will be available for purchase at $20.

In addition to promotional ticket prices, parking prices have been adjusted for this game.  If you are a Lobo Football season ticket holder, you will be able to park absolutely free in the Stadium East lot, or any other paid lots.  Fans who purchase their individual game tickets for this event in advance, will be charged only $5 to park in any of the paid lots (including Stadium East).  Fans who have not purchased their tickets prior to the game will be charged $10 to park in Stadium East and $5 in all other paid lots, so make sure you get your tickets early!

As a special concessions feature, fans will also be able to purchase $2 hot dogs at our northeast and northwest concession stands, courtesy of Levy Restaurants.

“We appreciate our fans, and wanted to show our appreciation as well as have a great turnout for this final game of the season,” said Vice President for Athletics Paul Krebs.  “Our football team is having an outstanding season, is tremendously exciting and features great student-athletes that work hard on the field and in the classroom. We hope Lobo fans will come out in large numbers to support the team and coaches in recognition of what we are building with UNM Football.”

Along with the free parking for Lobo Football season ticket holders, the names of season ticket holders will be drawn at random for special giveaway prizes (must be present to win) such as: Airline vouchers, televisions and restaurant gift cards. The first 5,000 fans through the gates will receive Lobo texting gloves, which allow the wearer to operate the surface of most phones without having to remove the gloves.

Tickets are available via the following ways:

  • By calling 505-925-LOBO/505-925-1620
  • Via www.golobos.com or www.unmtickets.com
  • in person at the Lobo Ticket Office in WisePies Arena (open 8:30 am to 5 pm)
