Lobo swimming & diving heads to Houston

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico women’s swimming team gets its first taste of a large event this 2016-17 season as the Lobos travel to participate in the Phill Hansel Invitational starting Friday in Houston, Texas.
 
The three-day event features 10 teams in UC Davis, Colorado State, Idaho, New Mexico State, North Texas, Rice, Tulane, Vanderbilt, Houston and UNM. The first session begins 9 a.m. (MST) Friday at the CRWC Natatorium.

The Lobos are coming off their first win under new coach Dorsey Tierney-Walker, a 156.4-140.5 victory over Northern Arizona on Oct. 29 in Albuquerque. UNM won 11 of the 16 events with Adriana Palomino taking three events (1,000, 500 and 200 freestyle) while Emily McGill (100 breaststroke, 200 individual medley) and Kaela McKee (100 and 200 backstroke) each took two events.
