ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The University of New Mexico women’s golf team and head coach Jill Trujillo announced the signing of Caroline Jansson for the 2017-18 season.
“Caroline will be a tremendous player for our team. She will contribute right away with her lengthy tournament experience” said Trujillo. “She has played golf all over and knows what it takes to play at a high level. We are ecstatic to add a Super Swede to our roster!”
Jansson, the Swedish star played at her home golf club, Ljunghusen Golfklubb while taking away various titles in 2016. She was the champion of the Swedish elite tournament called, “Tallskottet Elite” and in November she competed for her home club team in the Swedish Junior National Championship for Club Teams where she helped her club claim 2nd overall in Spain.
This future Lobo also shares the same hometown as Lobo women’s golf 2009 graduate, Mikaela Backstedt.
