ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico women’s basketball team is set to host its first exhibition game of the season on Tuesday against Fort Lewis at 7 p.m. MT at WisePies Arena – The Pit.
The game will mark the first time the Lobos face off against another team this preseason and will be UNM’s first competition under new head coach Mike Bradbury. Tuesday’s game is the first of two exhibitions this week, it will be followed by another home matchup against Eastern New Mexico on Sunday, Nov. 6.

Coaches:
The Lobos are led by head coach Mike Bradbury in his first season with the Lobos, his 10th season overall. Bradbury enters this season with a career record of 178-117. Assisting Bradbury will be Valerie King in her first season at UNM, Aarika Hughes in her first season and Erin Grant, who is returning to the Lobos for her second season.
Fort Lewis is led by Jason Flores in his fifth season with the Skyhawks. He enters the 2016-17 campaign with a record of 69-44 at Fort Lewis and is assisted by Maylinn Smith in her second season.
Last Season:
The Lobos finished fifth in the Mountain West in 2015-16 and have been selected to finish sixth in the 2016-17 season. The Skyhawks completed their season eighth in the RMAC in 2015-16.
Series History:
The Lobos are 2-0 all-time against the Skyhawks including an 82-32 victory on December 17, 1995 that remains tied for seventh in UNM history for largest victory margin in The Pit.The second matchup between the two squads was on Nov. 21, 1984 when the Lobos earned a 76-48 victory.
