AUSTIN, Texas – The Lobos finished in 13th out of 14 teams at the 43rd annual Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational where UNM competed against four ranked teams, where which of those four, three finished in the top five after this two-day invitational.
 
“We didn’t get the job done here in Texas,” said head coach Jill Trujillo.
 
Senior Eva Saulnier led the Lobos in the third round with a score of one-over par 73, and despite making a double bogey, she finished with a total of four birdies. Katerina Jaeger came in close behind Saulnier with a score of 1-under par in the front nine, 3-over par in the back equaling a score of 74. Following that with a score of 75, Alexandra Moisand closed out the back nine shooting 2-under par. Ingrid Gutierrez finished the third round with a total score of 7-over par 79, respectfully.
 
With the ups and downs of Monday and Tuesday, the highlight of the day came from senior Manon Molle’ who made an ace on the eighth hole on front nine. Molle’ totaled a score of 12-over par 84.
 
“I expect a lot out of my upperclassmen,” added Trujillo. “We need to regroup and get ready for our next event.”
 
As the Lobos take a couple days to prepare, they are looking forward toward to their final event for the fall which is the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown being held at UNLV. UNM will be playing this three-round tournament starting Sunday, Oct. 23 and will finish Tuesday, Oct. 25.
