ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico women’s basketball team is set to host an open practice for a sneak preview of the 2016-17 team this Saturday, Oct. 22 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at WisePies Arena – The Pit.
The open practice is an exciting opportunity for fans to get familiar with the new faces on the team, and on the sidelines, while also watching the team learn to implement its new, fast-paced style of play. The event is free and open to the public. In addition, free posters and schedule cards will be made available for a special team autograph session following the practice.
Saturday’s practice is scheduled to consist of an intrasquad scrimmage and other drills that will show off the 2016-17 team members. Fans in attendance will be escorted onto the court shortly after practice concludes to meet the players and get autographs from the team. Fans are encouraged to bring any special items they would like the team to sign.
In addition to the practice, posters and autograph session, there will also be an official Lobo ticket representative on site to answer any questions about season ticket sales for the 2016-17 season.
Fans can access the open practice through the NORTHEAST entrance to WisePies Arena – The Pit. After the event, be sure to stick around for the Lobo Football game at 7 p.m. where the 2016-17 women’s basketball team will be introduced on the field between the first and second quarters!
