UNM head coach Glen Millican was optimistic after the day’s performance say that the day displayed “[a] really good final round.”
The day’s efforts were lead by Andre Bevins (72-74-70), who continued to carry over Monday’s momentum, eventually posting a 2-under 70 on Tuesday. With that mark in place, Bevins crept inside the tournament’s top-15, where at day’s end he sat in a three-way tie for 14th. The gains on the field were helped along by both players posting their lowest rounds on the week. Kim carried the sixth-lowest par-5 scoring average (4.92) in the field, while Carlon followed suit also carrying the sixth-lowest par-3 scoring average (3.17).
As a team, the Lobos did the greatest amount of damage on par-3’s, where the team carried the fourth-lowest cumulative scoring average (3.22). UNM also tied for the fourth most pars as a team with 65 over the course of competition.
Another highlight worthy of note was the teams scoring average on the day. UNM carded an even-par 288 on the day, with a player scoring average 72.00, the course average for the day was 75.19.
“[It] helps to finish with good play today and gives us something to build on for the next event,” said Millican in conclusion.
