SAN MARTIN, Calif. – Former University of New Mexico women’s golfer Jodi Ewart-Shadoff finished strong at the U.S. Open last weekend, tying for eighth place with U.S. golfer Gerina Piller.
Representing the United Kingdom, Ewart-Shadoff finished two-under par with a total score of 286. She started out with a first-round score of 70, two-under, after taking advantage of three birdies on holes six, 12 and 18.

She moved to three-under in the second round after two more birdies and broke even in the third round with a score of 75. She used a strong fourth and final round score of 70 a she picked up three birdies, including two on the front nine.
With the eighth place finish, Ewart-Shadoff moved up to 34 on the LPGA official money list and to 92 on the Rolex Women’s World Golf rankings.
Head women’s golf coach Jill Trujillo made the trip out to San Martin to watch her former player.
“It was a great experience and I am so proud of the way Jodi finished,” said Trujillo. “It is great to see a former Lobo succeed and finish strong like that, especially while she is representing us with our logo on her bag.”
Ewart-Shadoff is representing the Lobos well on the course across the world. She has the Lobo shield embedded on her golf bag.
Next up, the former Lobo will be taking on the UL International Crown that will take place July 19-24 in Gurnee, Ill.
