ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.Bob Davie will always stress athletic and academic excellence, and after a tremendous athletic success on the field in 2015, the team just turned in a tremendous academic success as the team posted a combined 2.80 grade point average, the second-highest GPA in program history, and the best in 13 years.

The only other semester that was better for UNM football was in the Spring of 2003 when the team had a combined 2.96 grade point average.

The team’s 2.80 GPA also continued a streak under Bob Davie in which UNM has had at least a 2.56 GPA or better in all nine semesters, and a 2.60 in at least seven of nine.  The football team in the 2015-16 academic year saw 23 student-athletes graduate, and the 2016 team will feature seven UNM graduates on the roster, including Garrett Adcock, who will be in his second year in law school.
