ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The University of New Mexico baseball program has set another record for GPA in a semester, finishing the term with a 3.26 GPA.

The Lobos have now posted a GPA of 3.0 or higher in eight straight semesters, all under the leadership of head coach Ray Birmingham. The team set their record while winning another Mountain West Championship and earning a spot in the NCAA Lubbock Regional.

The baseball team was buoyed by a pair of CoSIDA Academic All-Americans in Chris DeVito and Alex Estrella. Baseball’s previous best GPA was a 3.21 in the fall of 2013. The best spring GPA previous to this year was a 3.06 in the spring of 2013, which also was a conference title season.
