ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Kentrail Moran, the No. 1 rated high school tailback in the state of Illinois, has signed on to join The University of New Mexico football team for the 2016 season. Moran had offers from many Big Ten schools including Iowa, Wisconsin and Illinois.
Moran, who stands 5-10 and 195 pounds, played at O’Fallon High School. He was rated a three-star recruit by Rivals and 247 Sports, and Rivals rated him in the top 20 in the country amongst all running backs while 247 ranked him 17th. He rushed for 3,569 yards in his career on 692 carries with 27 rushing touchdowns. Last season for O’Fallon, he rushed for 1,387 yards in just nine games with 13 touchdowns and seven 100-yard games.
He also caught 65 passes in his career, including a long of 67 yards. He even completed both of his pass attempts in his career. He was named to a host of postseason teams including All-State and All-Metro East.
