Greetings from Australia, Lobo fans!
We have just touched down on Australian soil and we all couldn’t be more excited. We took off from Albuquerque on Saturday afternoon and had to tackle the international terminal of LAX. After a long walk at LAX, we made it to where planes are taking off to different places all around the world. We checked into our flight and then had a lot of time to kill. We got to hang out in the international terminal for about six hours.
The time had finally come to board the plane for our new adventure. We all boarded the plane and found our seats that we would be in for the next thirteen hours. As we sat in our seats, we realized there was some amazing movies to watch on our long flight. During the flight we were served dinner and breakfast and surprisingly it was delicious. I think everyone tried to sleep. Some slept more than others. The flight was long but we all made it in one piece.
We all got off the plane and had to go through customs. We then got to our awesome bus and realized that this country drives on the other side of the road. It was cool to watch from the window of the van. We took about an hour drive to Gold Coast where we finally saw the ocean. We had about two hours to go swim and explore a little bit of the Australian coast. It was breathtaking. We even saw two dolphins swimming. After our adventure at the beach, we checked into our hotel. Our hotel is right across the street to the ocean, so it will be easy access for a quick swim.
To end the day we had a practice. We practiced at a local college and just worked on some basics like passing and hitting. We were getting ready for the scrimmage we have tomorrow.
All in all it was a great start to our trip. Everyone is really excited. We can’t wait to see what else this trip has in store for us.
Go Lobos!
