Lobos Finish Tied for 16th at the Silverado Showdown

NAPA, Calif. – After three rounds of intense competition, the Lobos finished tied for 16th place at the Silverado Showdown. In round three the Lobos carded a team score of 311 (+23) with a combined three-day total team score of 918, shooting 54-over as a team (301+306+311=918).
 
Taking home the team medal was Stanford. The Stanford Cardinal shot one-over as a team for a total score of 865 (286+285+294) and maintained the top spot on the leaderboard after all three rounds of competition. Tournament co-host, Oregon, finished second with a total score of 878 (+14) followed by Pepperdine at 880 (+16).
 
From the Mountain West, San Diego State finished 12th with a score of 909 (+45) followed by San José State tied for the 13th position with a team score of 912 (+48).
 
Claiming the individual medal was Cathleen Santoso of Oregon. Santoso carded a 71 (-1) in round three for a three-round total score of 211 (-5). Stanford’s Lauren Kim finished in second place with a total score of 212 (-4). Esther Lee of Colorado jumped up eight spots to finish third after carding a 68 (-4) in round three and a total score of 213 (-3).
 
Leading the Lobos was Ingrid Gutierrez who carded a par-even 72 in round three. Gutierrez finished with a three-round total score of 220 (+4) to put her tied for 13th place overall.

“Ingrid stayed focused and steady this tournament,” said Lobo head coach Jill Trujillo. “It was a great performance.”
 
 
Next up, the Lobos head to Lubbock, Texas for the Red Raider Invitational to compete in their final regular season tournament at Texas Tech on Friday (Apr. 8) and Saturday (Apr. 9).
