Lobos sit Tied for 9th After Round One at the Silverado Showdown

NAPA, Calif. – After one round of competition, the New Mexico Lobos currently sit tied for ninth place at the Silverado Showdown. The Lobos shot 13-over on the day for a first round total score of 301.
 
“They all played fairly steady most of the day,” said Lobo head coach Jill Trujillo. “A few bad holes cost us some shots down the stretch and the greens are tricky, but I expect more puts will fall tomorrow.”
 
Leading the 18 team field is Stanford with round one team score of 286 (-2). Four strokes behind is tournament co-host, Colorado, at two-over (290). LSU and Oregon sit tied for third place with matching scores of 293 (+5).
 
Atop the individual leaderboard is Oregon’s Cathleen Santoso with a round one score of 67 (-5). One stroke behind is Oregon’s Kelsey Ulep with a total score of 68 (-4), followed by Lauren Kim of Stanford at 70 (-2).
 
Leading the Lobos is freshman Darian Zachek who is tied for 16th place with a first round score of 73 (+1). One stroke behind is sophomore Ingrid Gutierrez who carded a 74 (+2) in round one to put her tied for 25th place.
 
 
The Lobos will tee off on Monday (Apr. 4) at the first and 10th holes at 7:45 a.m.
