Lobos Lose to Dallas Baptist

Complete box: Dallas Baptist 33, UNM 8

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Saturday was a day to forget for the University of New Mexico baseball team. The Lobos (6-3) saw visiting Dallas Baptist (7-3) score in every inning en route to a 33-8 loss at Santa Ana Star Field.

Probably the only bright spot for the Lobos was the return of Preseason All-Mountain West outfielder Danny Collier. Making his first start of the year, the junior went 3-for-5 with a run and a career-high four RBIs. Dalton Bowers also had a solid game at the plate, going 3-for-3 with two doubles, a walk, a run and an RBI.

The series finale is Sunday at 1 p.m. Senior left-hander Colton Thomson will make his second start of the season for UNM. ESPN Radio 101.7 The TEAM will carry the game, and fans can watch a live stream on the Mountain West Network on GoLobos.com.

Notes: Taylor Duree made his 66th career appearance, which is tied for third most ever at UNM … Austin Bell, Erick Migueles and Andrew Pratt each recorded their first career hit for the Lobos … Jacob Westerman scored his first career run after walking as a pinch hitter … Austin Treadwell made his collegiate debut as a pinch hitter in the ninth and flew out to center … Migueles finished 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and a walk.
