Lobos Finish in 15th Place at Wildcat Invitational

TUSCON, Ariz. – Following the third round of competition, the Lobo women’s golf team finished in 15th place overall at the Wildcat Invitational. The Lobos carded a 303 (+15) in round three to earn a three round total team score of 911 (+47).
 
“Sometimes getting your nose bloodied is a good thing,” said Lobo head coach Jill Trujillo. “I have no doubt this will motivate us to do great things.”
 
Capturing the team title was tournament host, Arizona, with a team total score of 857 (-7). The Wildcats surged past the round two leaders, Arizona State, with a six-under performance in round three. Arizona State finished in second place with a score of 868 (+4) followed by UNLV at 876 (+12).
 
Taking home the individual medal was Krystal Quihuis of Arizona with a card of seven-under (68-71-70 = 209). Arizona State’s Linnea Strom finished second with a card of six-under (210) followed by her teammate Monica Vaughn in third with a card of five-under (211).
 
Leading the Lobo effort was Alexandra Moisand, with a three round total score of 220 (+4). Moisand carded a par-even 72 in round three to position her tied for 18th overall. The Lobos collected 30 birdies in three rounds of play, nine of which came from Moisand.
 
Up next, the Lobos will travel to Napa, Calif. to compete in the Silverado Showdown (Apr. 3rd – 5th).
