TUSCON, Ariz. – After two rounds of play, the Lobos currently sit in 15th place overall. The Lobos finished shooting 32-over par for a two-round total score of 608 (301, 307).
“Tough day for us,” said Lobo head coach Jill Trujillo. “The wind got to us this afternoon and we took too many big numbers. A bad shot will cost you here.”
Leading the 15 team field is Arizona State with a two round total score of 574 (-2). Only one stroke behind is tournament host, Arizona, with a total team score of 575 (-1). Purdue sits in third place overall with a score of 582 (+6).
In the individual competition, Arizona State’s Linnea Strom leads the pack with a commanding two-round total score of 135 (-9). Tied for second place are Daniela Darquea and Dewi Weber of Miami with matching scores of 138 (-6).
Leading the Lobos is Alexandra Moisand with a score of 148 (+4), putting her tied for 25th place in a field of 84 individuals. Ingrid Gutierrez currently sits tied for 33rd place with a two-round total score of 149 (+5).
“Our distance control in chipping needs to get better tomorrow,” Trujillo admitted.
The Lobos look to move up in the team rankings tomorrow in round three of competition. They will tee off tomorrow, Tuesday, March 15 at 8 a.m.
