ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – After a solid sixth place showing at the Bruin Wave Invitational, the Lobo women’s golf team packs up their clubs once again in preparation for the Wildcat Invitational this upcoming Monday and Tuesday (Mar. 14-15).
Hosted by the University of Arizona, the tournament will be held at the Sewailo Golf Club, a par-72, 6,492-yard course in Tucson, Ariz. The 15 team field of competitors will play 54 holes over three rounds, with 36 holes the first day, and 18 the second day.
“We’re excited to return to the University of Arizona’s tournament at Sewailo,” said Lobo head coach Jill Trujillo. “We want to see how well we can play there this year.”
A new team champion and individual medalist will be named at this year’s event with the absence of 2015 champion, USC. The Arizona Wildcats finished in second place in 2015 and were led by returning senior Weaver, who notched a 206 (-10) to capture a second place finish overall.
The Lobos will tee off in round one with shotgun start at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, Mar. 14th. Round two will begin at the conclusion of the first round.
Live scoring of the Wildcat Invitational will be provided on Birdiefire.
