ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The University of New Mexico diving team is heading to Colorado for a meet at Air Force Friday and Saturday. This will be the final preparation for the divers before the Mountain West Championships later this month in College Station, Texas.
Freshman Allyson Concepcion is coming off an excellent performance last Saturday versus New Mexico State. She scored 273.53 in her 1-meter dives and 280.20 in her 3-meter dives. Both those scores made the zone qualifying cut for the native of Reno, Nev. Fellow freshman Madeline Horner and sophomore Kayla Taylor, both of whom also performed very well against the Aggies last weekend, will look to score big points for UNM this weekend.
The Mountain West Championships begin Wednesday, Feb. 17 and continue through Saturday, Feb. 20. The NCAA Zone E Diving Championships are from March 7-9 in Flagstaff, Arizona.
