ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Former University of New Mexico Lobo Men’s Soccer player Michael Reed has signed with San Antonio FC of the USL. He played for UNM from 2007-10 and is 10th all-time in minutes played for the Lobos.

Reed spent three years playing for Minnesota United FC after being named to the NSCAA All-Far West Region Third Team as a senior for the Lobos. Last season he appeared in 29 games for Atlanta Silverbacks of the NASL and started all of them. He scored one goal while playing 2,590 minutes.

“Michael has great endurance and an extremely high work rate in midfield,” SAFC head coach Darren Powell said in a release on the team’s website. “He will complement the midfielders on the squad really well, and we anticipate him having a good season for us.”

Reed was equally excited to join San Antonio, saying, “”I am truly honored to be able to join this exciting new club. This is an amazing opportunity with an incredible organization behind it and I can’t wait to step on the field and represent the club and the city of San Antonio with pride.”
