ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Former University of New Mexico Lobo Men’s Soccer All-American Kyle Venter has signed a new professional contract. He will join Ottawa Fury FC of the NASL for the 2016 season.
“Bringing in Kyle gives us much-needed depth at central defense,” Fury FC coach/GM Paul Dalglish told the Ottawa Sun, “and his ability to play on the right or left side will be important to us.”
Venter played for UNM from 2009-13 and was the program’s first three-time All-American. He was selected in the second round of the 2014 MLS SuperDraft by LA Galaxy. He spent last season playing for Tulsa Roughnecks FC in the USL.
