COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Sophomore guard Elijah Brown has been named Mountain West Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office Monday.

Brown averaged 23.5 points per game against Air Force and Boise State, both wins for the Lobos, and shot 52.2 percent from the floor and 61.5 percent from 3-point range. He also averaged four rebounds and assists per game apiece.

In the team’s road win over Boise State Saturday, Brown led the Lobos with 30 points on 7-for-15 shooting, including 4-for-7 from 3-point range. Brown went 12-for-14 from the free throw line. He also logged five rebounds and five assists, a team high.

Earlier in the week at home against Air Force, Brown was the team’s leading scorer at 17 points, going 5-for-8 from the floor and 4-for-6 from 3-point range.

This is the third Player of the Week honor this season for Brown. He joins former Lobos Cameron Bairstow (2013-14), Alex Kirk (2012-13), Drew Gordon (2011-12) and J.R. Giddens (2007-08) as Lobos who’ve received the MW honor three times or more in a season.
