ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.—The Intercollegiate Tennis Association completed its process of Regional Host Site selection for 2016 and the University of New Mexico has been selected as the host site for the Division I women’s mountain region.
After submitting an application process, the bids were sent to one of ITA’s 12 region chairs who discuss and approve a final hosting site with their regional committees.
Host sites are chosen based on a number of factors including quality of facilities, institutional support, geographic location, past experience running tournaments and lodging.
“We are ecstatic to be hosting the 2016 USTA/ITA Mountain Regional Championships here at New Mexico,” head coach Kelcy McKenna said. “It is a wonderful opportunity to utilize our phenomenal facility—and a great chance for the community to watch some exciting regional competition.”
