ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The University of New Mexico women’s basketball team will look for its third straight home victory and second straight victory Saturday, as the Lobos host Boise State in WisePies Arena. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. and the game will be available on the Mountain West Network.

About The Matchup:
The Lobos will look to continue their winning success as they host Boise State Saturday in WisePies at 2 p.m. This will be the 12th matchup between the two teams. The Broncos lead the all-time series 7-4. Boise State won the last matchup, which was the 2015 Mountain West Championship. The Lobos fell 66-60. Under head coach Yvonne Sanchez, the Lobos are 4-5. Boise State has won the last four out of five games. The Lobos did win the last game in WisePies Arena against Boise State, 63-50.
About New Mexico:
New Mexico moved up to fourth place in the Mountain West after the 63-33 victory over Air Force Wednesday. The Lobos are now 11-7 on the season and 4-3 in the Mountain West. Freshman Jaisa Nunn led the Lobos at Air Force with 12 points and seven rebounds. Sophomore Cherise Beynon finished with 10 points which is her seventh straight game in double-figures.
Senior Khadijah Shumpert leads the squad with 14.1 ppg and 6.5 rpg. Beynon is second on the team in scoring at 12.1 ppg but leads the squad in conference action at 14.9 ppg. Beynon is shooting 44 percent from the three in conference action. In the last two games, the Lobos have shot above 40 percent from the field. They are averaging 60.1 points on conference play and 64.2 points overall. From the field, they are shooting 39 percent from the field and 30 percent from the three.
About Boise State:
The Broncos are currently 13-6 on the season and third in the Mountain West with a 6-2 record. They are coming off a 75-56 win over UNLV Wednesday. They had four in double-figures against the Lady Rebels, including a 20-point performance from junior forward Brooke Pahukoa. She was 6-for-11 from the field and 7-for-7 from the free throw line. She is leading the team with 15.9 ppg. She is shooting 44 percent from the field and picking up 5.5 rpg. Boise State has two other players averaging in double-figures. Shay Shaw is second on the team with 13.4 ppg and forward Miquelle Askew is averaging 13.2 ppg. Junior guard Yaiza Rodriguez leads the team in assists at 5.4 apg.
On the season, Boise State is shooting 43 percent from the field and 34 percent from the three, which leads the Mountain West in both categories. They average 70.5 ppg and tally 38.3 rpg.
About the Coaches:
Yvonne Sanchez is in her fifth season as head coach of the Lobos. This is her 16th year with the program. Sanchez holds a 71-73 record as head coach and is currently 11-7 on the season and is fourth in Mountain West action with a 4-3 record. This will be the 10th matchup for Sanchez as head coach. Boise State leads the all-time series 7-4 and 5-4 under Sanchez.
Gordy Presnell is in his 11th year with the Boise State Broncos. He owns a 189-144 record for the Broncos. He is currently 13-6 on the season and is third in the Mountain West with a 6-2 record.
