ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — For the second straight year, Lobo Football, in conjunction with LoboTV, will broadcast live on National Signing Day with “NLI 2016”, a live two hour show starting at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, February 3. The two-hour show will feature highlights of all of UNM’s signing class, a look back at UNM’s Bowl season of 2015, and special guests, including ROOT Sports analyst Sed Bonner.
The show can be accessed via GoLobos.com and CampusInsiders, and the two hour live show will be edited to a one hour special that will be broadcast regionally on ROOT Sports Rocky Mountain as well.
Last year the over two hour program “NLI 2015” set the standard around the Mountain West and nationally for in-house produced content on National Signing Day, and the 2016 show builds on it.
“The feedback we had from last year’s show was tremendous,” said LoboTV Executive Producer Kasey Byers. “I think this year’s show will be even better.”
For the second straight season, the show will be hosted by Assistant A.D. for Communications Frank Mercogliano, and it will take place within the confines of the Tow Diehm football facility.
Along with head coach Bob Davie and assistants Bob DeBesse, Kevin Cosgrove, Apollo Wright and Charles McMillian and Jason Lenzmeier, director of recruiting Josh Sternquist will be on hand. Fans will also get to hear from December signee Blaise Fountain in the second hour along with ROOT Sports analyst Sed Bonner, who broadcast five Lobo football games last year.
Lobo fans will also be able to interact with the show and have questions read on air by tweeting questions using the hashtag #LoboNLI. The official twitter account for Lobo Football @NewMexicoFB will break all recruiting news throughout the day on February 3.
Interspersed throughout the show will be Lobo highlights for 2015 along with video and introductions of the newest members of the Lobo football program. Last season the Lobos went 7-6 and played in the Gildan New Mexico Bowl, the program’s first Bowl berth since 2007. The 2016 home schedule features non-conference games with South Dakota and ULM, along with conference games against Nevada, San José State, Boise State and Wyoming.
