ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The University of New Mexico men’s basketball team will participate in the 2016 DIRECTV Wooden Legacy, taking place Nov. 24-27 in Orange County, California, as announced by ESPN Events Friday.
The first two days will be held on the campus of Cal-State Fullerton and the final day of competition will be at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. Teams joining the Lobos in the field include Cal State-Northridge, Dayton, Nebraska, Portland, Texas A&M, UCLA and Virginia Tech.

The Lobos are no strangers to early season ESPN Events tournaments. New Mexico is slated to participate in the 2015 Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic in Honolulu, Hawaii, beginning on Dec. 22 when the Lobos take on Auburn. Other teams participating include BYU, Harvard, Hawaii, Northern Iowa, Oklahoma and Washington State. The Lobos will play again on Dec. 23 and Dec. 25.
Last year, the Lobos participated in the 2014 Puerto Rico Tip-Off, where they played games against Boston College, George Mason and Texas A&M in San Juan Puerto Rico.
