ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The University of New Mexico softball team and head coach Erica Beach announced the signing of Jensen Main for the 2016-17 season.
“Jensen is a big strong pitcher and hitter who will be an immediate impact on this program,” said Beach. “She’s not only a talented softball player but a multi-sport athlete who demonstrates incredible athleticism. I am so excited to welcome Jensen Main to the Lobo Softball family!”
Main, a right handed pitcher, commits to UNM from Stevenson High School in Seaside, Calif. She was the 2014 Mission Trail Pitcher of the Year and the 2015 Mission Trail League Most Valuable Player on the squad. She heads into her senior year with three First Team All-Mission Trail selections and three team Most Valuable Player awards. She played summerball for Central Coast Athletics.
The Salinas Californian selected her to the all-county team for 2013, 2014 and 2015. The Monterey Herald selected her to the all-county team for the 2014 and 2015 season. She was voted Stevenson High School Best Female Athlete in 2014 and 2015.
