ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The University of New Mexico softball team and head coach Erica Beach announced the signing of Cameryn O’Grady for the 2016-17 season.
“Cameryn is an incredibly talented infielder that is coming from a very strong club program in California,” said Beach. “She has played at the highest level and has excelled! She’s got amazing hands in the middle infield and a great bat! She is going to have an amazing career as a Lobo and I’m so ready for her to be wearing the Cherry and Silver!”
O’Grady, who plays both infield and outfield, commits to New Mexico from El Modena High School in Orange, Calif. She was a First Team All-Crestview League selection in 2015 and a Second Team All-Century League selection in 2013. She has led her squad to the quarter finals, first round and second round of the state districts in her first three high school seasons. O’Grady was selected to the Woodbridge All-Tournament team in 2015. She is a three-time scholar-athlete. She played summer ball for the Explosion.
“I am very excited to sign with the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque,” said O’Grady. “The opportunity to play college softball at such a great school is amazing. Everything about the school has impressed me; I love the coaches and I can’t wait to be a part of the Lobo family.”
