ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The University of New Mexico swimming and diving program has received an anonymous donation of $20,000. The gift, which is the largest in recent history for the program, will be put toward the program’s general fund.

“We are very fortunate to have so many outstanding alumni, family and friends who continue to show their loyalty and support to UNM swimming and diving,” head coach Kunio Kono said. “Every gift makes a difference.  These donations add up to support our program and our student-athletes.”

The Lobos’ 2015-16 season continues Saturday at 11 a.m. when they host Northern Colorado in a dual meet in the Seidler Natatorium. UNM has already competed in three dual meets this season, plus a relay meet at Denver, and is 2-1.

“I can’t express my appreciation enough,” Kono said. “Each gift we receive is put to good use helping us train and compete for a Mountain West championship.”
