ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – It’s mid-October, which means it’s time for the annual Lobo Howl. The 2015 edition of the tip-off of Lobo Men’s and Women’s Basketball is set for tomorrow, Friday, Oct. 16 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. (MST) inside WisePies Arena aka The Pit. Brought to you by Presbyterian Hospital, the event is free to attend with free parking as well.
The doors will open at 6 p.m. for fans to get in early to get their seats and partake in pregame festivities. Coach Yvonne Sanchez and Lobo Women’s Hoops will take to Bob King Court from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. before Coach Craig Neal and Lobo Men’s Basketball hit the hardwood from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.
UNM Students are encouraged to attend this year’s Lobo Howl, as well. In partnership with Lobo Spirit, UNM Students will be provided free pizza from Domino’s as well as an opportunity to register to shoot a half-court shot for a book scholarship for the 2016 Spring Semester courtesy of Head Men’s Basketball Coach Craig Neal! All who are interested must enter through the “Student Entrance” at the North Door. Any UNM student who registers for the half-court shot drawing must be enrolled in at least sixhours and have a valid UNM ID with them at the time of registration. The winner will be selected by means of a random drawing.
In order to maximize court time for Lobo Basketball, the squads will not be signing autographs during this event. Stay tuned via social media for further opportunities to get autographs from both men’s and women’s squads.
The Lobo teams will have drill work, three-point competitions, slam dunk contest and always a surprise or two!
The Howl is also your first chance to see the familiar faces of the teams while getting introduced to new ones.
