Women’s Tennis Heads to Las Vegas for UTSA/ITA Championships

Albuquerque, N.M. – The University of New Mexico women’s team is taking off for Las Vegas, Nevada,  for the 2015 USTA/Intercollegiate Tennis Association Mountain Region Championships that starts tomorrow. The tournament is held at the Fertitta Tennis Complex on the UNLV campus.
 
The duo of Emily Olivier and Ludivine Burguiere are seeded seventh in the tournament and have a bye the first round of doubles play. Andrea LeBlanc and Rachana Bhat are also competing in doubles and will face off against Magdalena Stencel and Tessa Van der Ploeg of the University of Wyoming in the round of 64.
 
In singles play, the Lobos have almost their whole team competing in the round of 128. Andrea LeBlanc, Dominique Dulski, Ruth Copas, Ludivine Burguiere, Rachana Bhat and Sharon Coone will all face off against opponents from the 18 teams competing.
 
Emily Olivier is seeded no. 3 in singles play and has a bye the first round. She starts her play in the round of 64. Dulski is also seeded in the tournament, coming in at 18, but she will compete in the round of 128.
 
The Lobos will be in Las Vegas through the weekend competing in the USTA/ITA Championships.
