ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – New Mexico women’s soccer junior midfielder Maddie Irwin has been named to the 2015 Women’s Premier Soccer League All-Star team for her work this summer with FC Tucson during the offseason. Irwin, a Tucson native, was one of a handful of Lobos to spend this summer in developmental leagues.
The junior has been an everyday starter for Coach Dyche and the Lobos in 2015, starting all seven matches in the midfield. She’s already logged over 500 minutes on the pitch and tallied her first goal of the season in her team’s 4-1 win over Idaho State.
Irwin is a two-time Academic All-MW selection while also receiving MW Scholar-Athlete and Lobo Scholar accolades for her time in the classroom.
