ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico and LoboTV, in conjunction and through Learfield Sports, presents the opening installment of “Lobo Football with Bob Davie”. Hosted once again by the Voice of the Lobos Robert Portnoy, the new format features more highlights and analysis from Coach Davie himself along with special segments on the Lobos in the Community and Lobo UNMasked features.
In later episodes, there will be assistant coach features as well. Learfield Sports will be announcing a regional distribution package soon that will get “Lobo Football with Bob Davie” into more homes than ever before. However, with the gap before that announcement, Kasey Byers, executive producer of LoboTV wanted to get the program out to Lobo fans.
The new production values in the show are highlighted by UNM’s new in-house studio, which is green-screen based and can be used to highlight the program. Fans will see new features like a scrolling ticker at the bottom of the screen with UNM scores from all sports and stats from the previous game.
“All of the changes to the show from the look of it to the information was done to highlight our football program,” said Byers. “The biggest thing was to show more highlights. The feedback we have received from our fans is they want to see more game highlights, and Coach Davie is so good at breaking those down for the fans and we really wanted to showcase that.”
