Jason Beaulieu vs. UCLAJason Beaulieu vs. UCLA

IRVING, Texas – University of New Mexico sophomore goalkeeper Jason Beaulieu was named Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in UNM’s match at top-ranked UCLA on Saturday. It is the first such honor in his career.
Despite dropping the match 1-0, Beaulieu did everything he could to keep the Lobos in the game against the high-powered attack of the Bruins. He was forced to make his first save five minutes in, and he finished with six total, which was the second highest single-match total of his career. He saw 15 shots total, with seven on frame, and also had to defend against 11 UCLA corner kicks.
UNM will play its first two home matches of the season this week against two more top-20 opponents in the Grange & Ashwill Memorial Invitational. The Lobos will face No. 18 San Diego Friday night at 7, and then host No. 13 UCSB Sunday at 6 p.m.
