ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico volleyball team will end its opening weekend of 2015 in front of a national audience as the Lobos’ Aug. 29 match at Ball State will be streamed on ESPN3.

New Mexico now has two matches scheduled for a nation audience in 2015, with the Ball State match joining the Lobos’ Sept. 11 match versus USC on the Pac-12 Networks.

“I’m excited to have another match nationally broadcast,” New Mexico head coach Jeff Nelson said. “These types of games really help promote our program nationally.”

The Ball State match is New Mexico’s first match to be produced for a national audience since the Lobos played San Diego State on CBS Sports Network on Oct. 9, 2011.

The Lobos open their season at the Ball State Invitational Aug. 28-29, taking Belmont and Albany on the first day of the tournament before facing Ball State on Saturday. New Mexico will host a fan appreciation night this Thursday, including a 6:30 p.m. Cherry & Silver exhibition match.
