ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Want to be a Lobo? The University of New Mexico football team will hold a preseason tryout for UNM students interested in joining the program. The team will hold a mandatory meeting for prospective players on Monday, Aug. 24 at 9:30 a.m. It will take place on the second floor of the Tow-Diehm Complex (on the south end of University Stadium).
The interested players will then report back on Wednesday, Aug. 26 at 9:30 a.m. to fill out the necessary paperwork. At 12 p.m. the following day, Thursday, Aug. 27, they will tryout with the Lobo coaching staff. Activities will include a dynamic stretch, drill work, and position work. The coaches will convene after the tryout and let the players know the results of their workout in the following days.
To be eligible to tryout for the team you must be enrolled at UNM, an NCAA Qualifier, and attempting 12 credits or more in the fall semester. Lobo Football practices are in the morning and schedule conflicts will play a part in the evaluation.
