ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – One year after reaching new heights in the classroom, the University of New Mexico men’s basketball program upped its academic success even further. Seven members of the 2014-15 team have been named to the Mountain West’s Academic All-Conference team, which is a program high for New Mexico.

Hugh Greenwood, Deshawn Delaney, Devon Williams, Obij Aget, Tim Jacobs, J.J. N’Ganga and Sam Logwood gave the Lobos the most Academic All-MW award winners in the conference. The seven selections topped the UNM record of six from the 2013-14 season.

The 13 Academic All-MW selections for New Mexico in the last two years match the MW’s two-year conference record. UNM tied BYU in that distinction as the Cougars had 13 academic all-conference selections during the 2006-07 and 2007-08 seasons.

The program posted a record 3.02 team grade point average in the fall, the best academic semester of record for UNM. New Mexico’s team gpa was a 2.94 in the Spring 2014 semester.

New Mexico also had the highest four-year APR score (985) in the MW in the most-recent NCAA data released this spring.
