FRESNO, Calif. – The University of New Mexico baseball team dropped its final game of the regular season 11-2 to the Fresno State Bulldogs and will be seeded fourth in the Mountain West Tournament next week in Reno, Nev. The Lobos (29-25, 17-13) will face Air Force at approximately 8 p.m. MT on Wednesday, May 20.

Fresno State (29-26, 18-12) jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first and tacked on three unearned runs in the fourth before the Lobos got on the board. Reece Weber smoked a double that was aided by a wicked hop off Fresno State’s shortstop. He advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored on a groundout to second by Lane Milligan.

But the Bulldogs got that run right back in the bottom of the inning and plated four more in the sixth to put the game out of reach. UNM’s second run came in the seventh when Jared Holley knocked in Jack Zoellner with a sacrifice fly to right-center.

Milligan finished the series with six RBIs, and Zoellner extended his hitting streak to eight games. Sam Haggerty went 2-for-4 and was the only Lobo with more than one hit.

ESPN Radio 101.7 The TEAM will carry all Lobo games in the tournament, and every game will be streamed live on the Mountain West Network.

Notes: Taylor Duree made his 63rd career appearance to tie Kris Gross for seventh all-time at UNM … Luis Gonzalez made a leaping, crashing catch against the right-center field fence in the bottom of the third.
