COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and EAS Sports Nutrition named junior softball player Mariah Rimmer as a recipient of the 2015 All-American Athlete Award.
This award recognizes Rimmer for her athletic accomplishments and her dedication to strength and conditioning. She was nominated by Senior Assistant Athletic Performance coach Molly McKinnon, who works closely with the softball team on a daily basis.
“I am extremely excited for Mariah,” said McKinnon. “She is one of the hardest workers in the weight room. She continues to get faster and stronger and that is a testament to the work she puts in day-in and day-out in our program.”
Rimmer has made a huge impact for the Lobos softball team this season. She currently leads the team with a .391 batting average. She has a team-leading 61 hits, 12 doubles and 24 RBIs to go along with six home runs. She also leads the team in stolen bases with 11 this season.
“She is one of our strongest athletes and one of our fastest athletes,” said head softball coach Erica Beach. “She takes great pride in her health, well-being and her conditioning in the weight room. For her to be recognized for this, is something that we are all very proud of.”
