COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of New Mexico will be front and center nationally in the month of November as the Lobos will have three national games as a part of the Mountain West national television package for the 2015 season. Overall, the conference announced an additional 33 games that will be broadcast by CBS Sports Network and ESPN exclusively on Saturdays.
Between the two television networks, 44 football games thus far will be aired this coming season on various platforms. Earlier this month, the MW announced an 11-game Friday package on CBS Sports Network and ESPN. The 2015 season will be CBS Sports Network’s 10th season as the primary rights holder of Mountain West football. This fall also marks the MW’s third year back on the ESPN networks.
UNM’s home games with Utah State on November 7 and Air Force on November 28 were selected, as well as a road game at Boise State on November 14. The game with Utah State will kick-off at 1:30 p.m. on CBS Sports Network. The games against Boise State and Air Force will be on the ESPN family of networks, with the game times decided by the network 12 days out from the game.
Last year, 10 Lobo games were controlled under the Mountain West’s various agreements, and the Lobos had four games on ROOT Sports, two games on CBS Sports Network and one each on ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPNews and the Mountain West Network/Campus Insiders. UNM had road games on ESPN3 and the American Sports Network as well.
The Lobos now have four games officially on TV, adding in the game on September 18 at Arizona State, which is controlled by the Pac-12 Conference. The additional eight games are under the control of the Mountain West. In the coming weeks, additional New Mexico games on ROOT SPORTS and the Mountain West Network powered by Campus Insiders will be announced.
