ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – University of New Mexico women’s tennis players Natasha Smith and Emily Olivier have been named to the 2015 All-Mountain West team for their success in singles action this season. This is the first all-conference honor for both Lobos.
Smith and Olivier have led the Lobos in the No. 1 and No. 2 singles positions this season.
Smith, UNM’s lone senior, holds a combined fall/spring singles record of 15-14. Smith is a two-time MW Player of the Week honoree as well as a recipient of the Tow Diehm Self Inspiration award.
Olivier holds an 18-16 overall singles record. The UNM sophomore started out the regular season with a 1-11 record, but battled back and is now going into the 2015 conference tournament riding a four-match win streak.
The second-seeded Lobos face the tenth-seeded Boise State Broncos on Friday at 6 p.m. MT in a quarterfinals match up at the McKinnon Family Tennis Stadium.
