The University of New Mexico women’s soccer team unofficially kicked off the coach Heather Dyche era on Saturday with a 2-1 spring exhibition victory over Denver University at the Lobo Soccer Complex.
Claire Lynch, who will be a sophomore during the 2015 season, posted an unassisted goal for UNM to open the scoring.
Rising senior Madisyn Olguin scored the second Lobo goal off an assist from rising junior Maddie Irwin.
Cassie Ulrich, who will be a senior next season, played in goal for the Lobos, who outshot the Pioneers 17-6 during the game. UNM shots hit the Denver goal posts four different times.
The Lobos wish to thank all the fans who came out for the first exhibition game at the Soccer Complex and remind fans that the team has another home game scheduled for Sunday at 10 a.m. Admission is free.
